General

Are you Dog Friendly?

We have rooms that are allocated as dog friendly, they just need to be booked directly with the hotel.  We can offer breakfast in the bar area for you to dine with your dog, please advise Reception on arrival if this is required

Are there time restrictions for children in the pool?

No.  The pool is open from 8am until 8pm and children under 16 should be accompanied by an adult in the pool, but there are no time restrictions

Do I need to pre-book Spa Treatments?

To avoid disappointment as the Spa does get very busy, we do recommend booking your treatments

How much is it for children to stay?

We do not charge for extra beds in family rooms. However, breakfast for children aged 6 and over is charged at £12.95 per child.

Do you have air conditioning

Air conditioning is available in our Lakeland Club, Suites and Lakeland Classic rooms, and is also available in the lounges.

Do you have luggage storage?

Yes, we offer luggage storage. You are very welcome to arrive early, leave your bags with us, and explore Ambleside while you wait for your room to be ready.

How far is the hotel from Lake Windermere?

The hotel is located approximately 1 mile from Lake Windermere, around a 15–20 minute walk from the hotel.

Is the hotel in the centre of Ambleside?

Yes, Ambleside Salutation Hotel & Spa is located in the heart of Ambleside, making it the perfect base for exploring the town’s shops, cafés, restaurants, and nearby walking routes.

Do guests have access to the spa facilities?

Yes, guests staying at Ambleside Salutation Hotel & Spa have complimentary access to the spa and leisure facilities, including the swimming pool, sauna, steam room, and gym during their stay.

Do you have fridges in the room ?

Yes each room has a fridge

Do you have twin bedded rooms

Yes, the hotel does offer twin rooms. Some of our bedrooms can be configured as twins with two single beds. Please request a twin room at the time of booking and our team will do their best to accommodate your preference, subject to availability.

Do you have family rooms?

Yes, we offer family rooms suitable for guests travelling with children. Some of our rooms can accommodate additional beds or sofa beds to comfortably host families. Please contact the hotel or specify the number and ages of children when booking so we can recommend the most suitable room option, subject to availability.

Do you have a cot available for a baby / small child

Yes, we can provide travel cots for babies and small children. Please request this when making your reservation so our team can ensure it is prepared in your room prior to arrival, subject to availability.

Do you have rooms with walk in showers?

Yes, some rooms feature walk-in showers. If you require a walk-in shower, please let us know at the time of booking and we will do our best to allocate a suitable room, subject to availability.

Do you supply bath mats?

Each bedroom has a hairdryer

What are your room amenities?

All our rooms have tea & coffee making facilities, fan, hairdryer, television, hair & body wash and a fridge

What time is check-in and check-out?

Check in is from 3pm and check out is 11am

Do we need to book for breakfast?

Yes, reception will take your reservation on arrival

Do you cater for special dietary requirements?

Yes, please advise at the time of booking what your allergies may be and we will try our utmost to accommodate you

Do you have a restaurant at the hotel?

Yes, we have an on-site restaurant serving breakfast, lunch, and dinner. We also offer a Sunday Carvery, where guests can enjoy a traditional roast with seasonal accompaniments.

Is breakfast included in the room rate?

Yes, breakfast is included when you book directly with us. If booking through third-party websites, please check the rate details to confirm whether breakfast is included.

What time is breakfast served?

Breakfast is served daily from 8:00am until 10:00am

Parking

Is there car parking and is there a charge?

We have one parking space per bedroom that is free of charge.  If you have any problems finding a space, please call into Reception and we will be happy to assist

Do you have electric vehicle charging?

Yes, we have three electric vehicle charging points available for guests.
